Orissa was hit on 26 October 1999 by a cyclone creating devastation in its wake. Thousands were affected, lives were lost, children orphaned, families broken, homes destroyed and almost all sources of earning washed away. 

Seeing the large-scale destruction and devastation and realizing the immediate need for assistance from all quarters, Action India began its Orissa Cyclone Relief fund. 

Action India took part whole-heartedly in relief works in cyclone-affected state of Orissa in cash and kind. Relief material in the form of food material, blankets, clothing and other essential requirements were provided to the survivors of the cyclone. While the need was mammoth, Action India made its own humble contribution with the limited financial resources that it had.
